Transfer to the Bar of England & Wales

The Bar Transfer Test allows qualified lawyers to join the Bar of England and Wales without repeating a full degree or BPTC. Our programme is aligned with the BSB's outcomes-based regulation so you meet the same vocational standards as local bar entrants.

Training includes advocacy, drafting, ethics, and evidential analysis delivered by practising barristers with experience covering civil, criminal, and commercial circuits.

The previous imagery showed barristers rehearsing submissions togetherhere is the action behind it:

  • Live advocacy labs covering openings, witness examination, and closing submissions.
  • Drafting clinics that keep your written pieces concise, structured, and persuasive.
  • Professional conduct briefings that highlight how to behave ethically and responsibly in court.
Core Themes

Curriculum focus

Advocacy Mastery

Structured practice in submissions, cross-examination, and courtroom presence.

Professional Conduct

Ethics, client care, and the professional obligations of barristers regulated by the BSB.

Evidence & Procedure

Evidential criteria, procedural stages, and practical problem solving in civil and criminal contexts.

Outcomes

Regulatory alignment

Passing the BTT places you under the same regulatory framework as UK barristers. Our programme emphasises consumer protection, risk management, and the public interest while preparing you for tenancy or pupillage.

We use outcome-driven assessments to make sure you meet the BSB benchmarks before sitting the BTT exam. Classes are delivered day, evening, or weekend to accommodate busy professionals.

On completion, you receive tailored feedback, advocacy recordings, and mock advocacy panels to track your progression.

The former courtroom image reflected the seriousness of practice. Consider the tangible experiences we offer instead:

  • Mock panels rehearsing opening statements, evidence handling, and closing submissions.
  • Recorded sessions reviewed with tutors for tone, body language, and storytelling.
  • One-to-one mentorship that aligns your progress with the Legal Services Boards standards.
