Advocateship Preparatory Course (APC)
From classrooms to the courtroom
APC at Newcastle Law Academy immerses future advocates in simulations, ethics, procedure drills, and legal research to ensure you can perform confidently in hearings and trials.
This preparatory course is structured around practical application. You will engage with mock hearings, instructed advocacy, drafting pleadings, and oral submissions guided by our Barrister faculty.
We also cover ethical responsibilities, judicial etiquette, and professional conduct so that you can transition smoothly to pupillage or direct practice.
The removed image captured a barrister presenting—a reminder of how the training unfolds:
- Moot court simulations with Barrister mentors grading your courtroom presence.
- Drafting clinics that rehearse pleadings, skeleton arguments, and oral submissions.
